(KYIV, UKRAINE) – Ukraine’s national electricity grid will operate without supply restrictions on Tuesday, 28 July, as the country’s power system continues to show stability despite ongoing pressure from military attacks on infrastructure.
National power company Ukrenergo confirmed the forecast in a social media statement, saying no planned consumption limits will be applied during the day. The announcement marks another day of full electricity availability for household and business consumers across the country.
Grid operators urged consumers to shift the use of energy intensive appliances to the period between 11:00 and 15:00, when solar generation is at its highest. The company also called for sensible electricity use throughout the day to help balance the system.
The positive supply outlook follows weeks of repair work on damaged energy facilities and comes as international partners continue to deliver equipment to bolster Ukraine’s power network. According to earlier reports, Ukrainian regions received energy equipment worth EUR 2.5 million (USD 2.72 million, GBP 2.15 million) from foreign partners over the past week alone.
By the morning of 27 July, Russian strikes had still left consumers without power in four Ukrainian regions, showing the continuing strain on the network. Repair crews are working to restore connections in those affected areas while the wider grid remains functional enough to avoid nationwide restrictions.
Ukraine’s energy system has faced sustained assault since autumn 2022, with missile and drone strikes targeting generation plants, substations and transmission lines. The ability to keep supply steady without cuts during summer months reflects both the impact of air defence improvements and the rapid repair work carried out by utility teams. International financial and technical support has proven vital, with the latest equipment deliveries including transformers, circuit breakers and mobile power units.
The grid company continues to publish daily updates on the supply situation as part of its public communication effort to help businesses and households plan their activities. Energy officials regularly emphasise that voluntary shifts in consumption patterns, particularly during peak solar hours, can significantly reduce the load on thermal and hydro generation plants. This approach allows water reserves and fuel stocks to be conserved for periods when renewable output drops.
Electricity exports to neighbouring European countries remain suspended while Ukraine focuses on meeting domestic demand. The country synchronised its grid with the European network in March 2022, an emergency step that has since become permanent and allows for technical assistance to flow more easily across borders.
