(KYIV, UKRAINE) – Diesel fuel prices at Ukrainian filling stations continued their upward march on Friday 31 July, while petrol costs held steady. The average nationwide price of diesel rose by UAH 1.33 to reach UAH 91.99 per litre, equivalent to approximately $2.50 (GBP 1.96 / EUR 2.28). The average price of A-95 petrol remained unchanged at UAH 81.19 per litre, roughly $2.21 (GBP 1.73 / EUR 2.01).

Data published by the financial monitoring portal minfin.com.ua showed that premium A-95 petrol edged higher by 2 kopiyok to an average of UAH 84.27 per litre, or about $2.29 (GBP 1.80 / EUR 2.09). Standard A-92 petrol gained 5 kopiyok, settling at UAH 77.75 per litre, roughly $2.11 (GBP 1.66 / EUR 1.93). Autogas moved up by 20 kopiyok to average UAH 43.52 per litre, approximately $1.18 (GBP 0.93 / EUR 1.08).

Price differences remain visible across major retail chains. State owned Ukrnafta posted some of the lowest rates, selling A-95 petrol at UAH 79.90 per litre ($2.17 / GBP 1.70 / EUR 1.98), diesel at UAH 89.90 per litre ($2.44 / GBP 1.92 / EUR 2.23) and autogas at UAH 42.90 per litre ($1.17 / GBP 0.91 / EUR 1.06).

The Avantage 7 network listed A-95 petrol at UAH 79.95 per litre ($2.17 / GBP 1.70 / EUR 1.98). Its diesel price was among the highest tracked at UAH 93.95 per litre ($2.55 / GBP 2.00 / EUR 2.33), while autogas was the cheapest recorded at UAH 39.95 per litre ($1.09 / GBP 0.85 / EUR 0.99).

OKKO stations sold A-95 petrol at UAH 82.90 per litre ($2.25 / GBP 1.77 / EUR 2.05), diesel at UAH 92.90 per litre ($2.53 / GBP 1.98 / EUR 2.30) and autogas at UAH 43.90 per litre ($1.19 / GBP 0.94 / EUR 1.09).

BRSM Nafta offered A-95 petrol at UAH 79.44 per litre ($2.16 / GBP 1.69 / EUR 1.97), diesel at UAH 90.99 per litre ($2.47 / GBP 1.94 / EUR 2.26) and autogas at UAH 40.00 per litre ($1.09 / GBP 0.85 / EUR 0.99).

The WOG network priced A-95 petrol at UAH 83.50 per litre ($2.27 / GBP 1.78 / EUR 2.07), diesel at UAH 92.80 per litre ($2.52 / GBP 1.98 / EUR 2.30) and autogas at UAH 44.50 per litre ($1.21 / GBP 0.95 / EUR 1.10).

BVS stations recorded the highest diesel price in the survey at UAH 94.90 per litre ($2.58 / GBP 2.02 / EUR 2.35). A-95 petrol stood at UAH 82.90 per litre ($2.25 / GBP 1.77 / EUR 2.05) and autogas at UAH 43.23 per litre ($1.18 / GBP 0.92 / EUR 1.07).

The previous day, Thursday 30 July, saw average A-95 petrol prices rise by 26 kopiyok to UAH 81.19 per litre, while diesel jumped by a full hryvnia to UAH 90.66 per litre. The consecutive daily increases in diesel prices are tightening cost pressures on transport operators and businesses reliant on road freight across the country.
