(KYIV, UKRAINE) – The total number of non-bank financial institutions in Ukraine fell by 11 companies during July 2026 to stand at 727, while the number of banks remained unchanged at 59, according to data released by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The central bank said it had cancelled all licences held by one non-life insurer at the request of the applicant during the month. Separately, it forcibly revoked all licences from six financial companies and two non-life insurers. One credit union was refused a licence.
Eleven companies were removed from the relevant registers over the course of July. The regulator also broadened the licence scope for one non-life insurer and narrowed the licence scope for two financial companies during the period.
As of 1 August 2026, the non-bank financial services market comprised 383 financial companies, down from 389 at the start of the month. The number of non-life insurers fell to 44 from 47. Life insurers held steady at 10, while the single insurer with special status was unchanged.
The number of pawnshops remained at 96, credit unions at 79, the sole leasing company at one, and collection agencies at 72. Insurance brokers decreased to 41 from 43.
The count of banking groups was unchanged at 15. Non-bank financial groups increased by one to reach 40, up from 39.
In June 2026, the number of participants in the non-bank financial market had already contracted by six institutions to 738.
