(KYIV, UKRAINE) – The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the hryvnia against the US dollar at UAH 44.86 per dollar on 12 August, a slight weakening of 3 kopiyok from the previous day, while the euro edged lower.
The official rate for the euro was fixed at UAH 51.75, down 3 kopiyok from the 11 August rate of UAH 51.78, according to data published on the central bank’s website.
In the commercial banking sector, average dollar buying and selling rates stood at UAH 44.59 and UAH 45.10 respectively, financial data portal minfin.com.ua reported. The euro traded at an average of UAH 51.43 for purchase and UAH 52.08 for sale.
In the cash exchange market, the average dollar buying rate was UAH 44.81 and the selling rate UAH 44.90. For the euro, cash exchangers posted average rates of UAH 51.74 for purchase and UAH 51.90 for sale.
Card rates at Privatbank, Ukraine’s largest commercial lender, were set at UAH 44.60 for dollar purchases and UAH 45.04 for sales, with euro card transactions priced at UAH 51.40 and UAH 52.08 respectively. At monobank, a leading digital bank, dollar card rates stood at UAH 44.63 for purchase and UAH 45.03 for sale, while euro rates were UAH 51.47 and UAH 52.06.
The government’s draft budget for 2026 assumes an average annual exchange rate of UAH 45.6 per dollar.
