(KYIV, UKRAINE) – New power outages were recorded in five Ukrainian regions on the morning of 11 August following fresh Russian attacks, while network restrictions remained in place in the Odesa region due to damage from a strike overnight on 9 August.
The national grid operator Ukrenergo reported that consumers were cut off in the Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Sumy and Chernihiv regions as a result of Russian shelling. Emergency restoration works are under way wherever security conditions permit.
Repair work also continues in the Odesa region. Energy workers have already restored supply to almost all consumers, but due to equipment overload the regional distribution company has been forced to apply network restrictions to prevent accidents.
Electricity consumption as of 9:30 on Tuesday morning was 8.7 percent higher than the level recorded the previous day. The increase is driven by rising air temperatures across most regions of Ukraine, prompting widespread use of air conditioning.
Ukrenergo advised consumers to shift active energy use to the period of highest efficiency for industrial solar power plants, between 10:00 and 16:00. It called for economical consumption between 19:00 and 22:00. In the Odesa region, the need for rational energy use remains around the clock.
The grid operator has not forecast the introduction of scheduled power cuts for 11 August. Russian forces also carried out airstrikes on critical infrastructure in Kherson, leaving three districts partially without electricity.
