(KYIV, UKRAINE) – The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate for the US dollar at 44.83 Ukrainian hryvnia and the euro at 51.78 hryvnia for Tuesday, 11 August. The dollar rose by 8 kopiyok from the previous rate of 44.75 hryvnia on 10 August, while the euro gained 17 kopiyok from 51.61 hryvnia.
At the official rate, one US dollar buying 44.83 hryvnia is equivalent to approximately 0.86 British pounds and 0.87 euros. One euro at 51.78 hryvnia equals about 1.16 US dollars and 0.89 British pounds.
Average bank exchange rates, according to data from the minfin.com.ua portal, stood at 44.59 to 45.10 hryvnia per dollar for buying and selling respectively. This spread equates to roughly 0.995 to 1.006 dollars per 44.59 hryvnia bid and 0.996 to 1.007 dollars per 45.10 hryvnia offer. Euro bank rates ranged from 51.44 to 52.12 hryvnia, or about 1.148 to 1.163 euros bid and offer.
Average cash exchange rates at currency exchange points showed the dollar at 44.80 hryvnia for buying and 44.94 hryvnia for selling. This represents a spread of roughly 1.000 to 1.003 dollars. The euro traded at 51.75 to 51.95 hryvnia, equivalent to about 1.155 to 1.159 euros.
Card rates at PrivatBank were set at 44.60 to 45.04 hryvnia per dollar and 51.50 to 52.35 hryvnia per euro. At monobank, card rates stood at 44.63 to 45.03 hryvnia per dollar and 51.55 to 52.24 hryvnia per euro.
The government’s draft state budget for 2026 assumes an average annual exchange rate of 45.6 hryvnia to the US dollar.
