(MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA) – Google has widened access to its agent based artificial intelligence assistant, Gemini Spark, making the tool available to paying subscribers across most global markets. The assistant, first announced at the company’s I/O developer conference earlier this year, is now included in the Google AI Pro plan at a cost of USD 20 per month, equivalent to roughly GBP 15.50 or EUR 18.50. Subscribers to the Google AI Ultra tier, priced between USD 100 and USD 200 per month, or approximately GBP 77 to GBP 155 and EUR 93 to EUR 185, also gain access worldwide.
The rollout excludes users in the European Economic Area, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Google has not given a date for when the service might become available in those territories. Users on the free tier continue to have no access to Spark.
Spark runs on the Gemini 3.5 model and is built directly into Google Workspace applications. The assistant can be activated through a dedicated Spark page, a sidebar on desktop computers or a menu option on mobile devices. Once open, users type in tasks they want the assistant to carry out. One example given by the company is a morning routine where Spark checks a user’s email and calendar schedule, then suggests which items to prioritise.
The assistant can also draft replies to emails from specific senders as messages arrive in a user’s inbox. It can summarise long email threads and generate detailed reports in Google Docs by pulling together meeting notes and correspondence. These features represent a push by Google to embed agent based artificial intelligence into everyday productivity workflows, moving beyond simple question and answer interactions toward autonomous task completion.
Google has published support pages with further guidance on Spark’s capabilities. The phased launch suggests the company is taking a careful approach to regulatory compliance in European and African markets. The exclusion of the United Kingdom, despite its post Brexit regulatory independence, indicates that Google is applying a broader regional restriction while it works through legal and data protection requirements.
The pricing structure places Spark within reach of individual professionals on the Pro plan, while the Ultra tier targets heavy users and organisations. The USD 20 per month Pro subscription sits in line with competing artificial intelligence assistant offerings from other major technology firms, though Google’s integration with Workspace gives it a direct channel to millions of existing business and consumer users.
