(KYIV, UKRAINE) – The official exchange rate of the Ukrainian hryvnia against the US dollar and the euro edged slightly stronger for Monday, 10 August 2026, according to data published by the National Bank of Ukraine.
The central bank set the official rate for one US dollar at 44.75 hryvnia, down from 44.76 hryvnia on 7 August. That marks a marginal decrease of 1 kopeck. One euro was fixed at 51.61 hryvnia, compared with 51.67 hryvnia previously, a decline of 6 kopecks.
The average interbank rates reported by commercial banks, according to financial data platform minfin.com.ua, placed dollar buying at 44.49 hryvnia and selling at 45.00 hryvnia. For the euro, the average buying rate stood at 51.36 hryvnia and the selling rate at 52.03 hryvnia.
In the cash market, the average rate at exchange points was 44.73 hryvnia for dollar purchases and 44.85 hryvnia for sales. The euro traded at an average of 51.60 hryvnia for buying and 51.80 hryvnia for selling.
Card rates at major banks varied slightly. Privatbank quoted dollar rates of 44.50 hryvnia for buying and 45.04 hryvnia for selling, with euro rates at 51.35 hryvnia and 52.08 hryvnia respectively. Monobank offered dollar rates of 44.60 hryvnia buying and 45.00 hryvnia selling, while euro rates stood at 51.43 hryvnia buying and 52.06 hryvnia selling.
The slight strengthening of the hryvnia comes against the backdrop of a government budget projection for 2026 that assumes an average annual exchange rate of 45.6 hryvnia to the US dollar. At current official rates, the dollar at 44.75 hryvnia is worth approximately £0.80 or €0.92, while the euro at 51.61 hryvnia equates to roughly $1.15 or £0.92.
