(KYIV, Ukraine) – Ukraine has established a new professional holiday for finance sector workers. The Day of Financiers will be marked each year on 11 July, following a presidential decree that took effect immediately upon publication.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed the decree on 31 July 2026. The official document, numbered 687/2026, states that the holiday recognises the contribution of finance professionals to keeping Ukraine’s financial system stable. It also aims to support the development of professional activity in the sector. The decree was issued on the initiative of Ukraine’s Ministry of Finance.

The new date adds to Ukraine’s existing calendar of financial observances. Bank Workers’ Day is already celebrated on 20 May, a state holiday set by presidential decree on 6 March 2004 that honours financial sector employees and the economic stability and development of the country.

No direct fiscal measures or spending commitments are attached to the decree.
